Instrument for measuring the coating thickness on metallic surfaces

0–1700μm
The measuring range defines the range over which the material thickness can be measured
± (2+2% x H)μm in the 0–500μm range; ± (2.5% x H)µm in the 500–1700µm range (‘H’ stands for the thickness of the measured coating)
The accuracy determines the error of measurements
Ferrous metals: 0.2mm, non-ferrous metals: 0.05mm
The minimum surface thickness affects the scope of use of the device: it cannot be used with materials that are of less than the minimum thickness

Description

The Ermenrich NT50 Thickness Gauge is a portable thickness gauge to measure the coating thickness on ferrous or non-ferrous metallic surfaces. It can be paint, varnish, ground coat, filler, or any other type of coating. Since you only need to place the sensor on the surface, the measurement process does not cause any damage to the coating.

It will come in handy when buying a used car. It will quickly determine whether the car has been in an accident – the thickness of the coating may change after the car has been repaired and this will be detected with the tool. It can also be used to test the anti-corrosion and flame-retardant coatings during construction work, determine the condition of vehicles during their exploitation, and check the quality of the painting of metal objects.

The device has a large monochrome screen with a 180° image rotation at the touch of a button. Up to 30 measurements can be stored in the memory of the device. There are single measurement and scan modes available, and you can also select the units of measurement. The instrument requires standard batteries and has an auto-off function to save power. It is already pre-calibrated at the factory. If required, you can calibrate it yourself – the kit includes two samples of metal base materials (black and non-ferrous metal) and five calibration plates.

Key features:

  • Measures coating thickness within 1,700μm
  • Two modes of operation: single measurement and scan mode
  • Works with ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Has a 2" monochrome screen
  • Screen image can be rotated 180°
  • Built-in memory for saving the measurement results
  • Manual calibration option, powered by standard batteries

The kit includes:

  • Thickness gauge
  • Pouch
  • Carrying strap
  • Iron plate
  • Aluminum plate
  • Calibration plate – 5 pcs.
  • User manual and warranty card
