The Ermenrich Ping SM80 Underground Wire Detector is designed to detect low voltage or zero voltage single-core and two-core parallel cables that are low or zero voltage as well as buried deep in the ground or hidden in walls. It can be used for land surveying and site investigations before starting construction works, e.g., before drilling walls, foundation excavations, etc. The Ermenrich Ping SM80 also can locate circuit breakers and hidden sockets.
The device includes a transmitter and receiver. The depth of detection is 0.6 meters (2ft), and the length of the investigated cable can be up to 800 meters (2625ft). When a cable is detected, the Ermenrich Ping SM80 notifies you with an audible signal. If you are working in a noisy environment where the signal is hard to hear, you can connect earbuds (included) to the receiver.
The device is easy to use and easy to maintain, you only need to recharge the receiver and transmitter batteries occasionally.
