The Levenhuk New Skyline BASE 60/700 AZ2 is an achromatic refractor with a 60mm aperture and a 700mm focal length. It allows you to observe the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, and other Solar System objects. The instrument is versatile: You can use it as a telescope for the night sky or as a spotting scope for terrestrial observations. This model doesn’t require any complicated setup, so you can start exploring right out of the box. It is a wonderful gift that can spark a lifelong interest in astronomy for both kids and adults.
Simple mount controls
The optical tube is mounted on an AZ2 alt-azimuth mount. It is a very intuitive system: You simply move the tube up and down or side to side by hand. Locking screws let you secure the telescope in place once you’ve found your target. The tripod is made of lightweight but sturdy aluminum. You can adjust the tripod height to suit the observer, which is especially practical when the telescope is shared by both adults and kids. The accessory tray keeps all of your accessories within easy reach.
Extended set of accessories
The telescope comes fully equipped. You get 10mm (70x) and 20mm (35x) eyepieces, a diagonal mirror, and a 1.5x erecting eyepiece that provides a correctly oriented image. To double the magnification, just add the included 2x Barlow lens. A special lunar filter reduces the Moon’s brightness, helping you observe more surface details.
