Description

Levenhuk Skyline 70x900 EQ is a refractor with an equatorial mount, which is suitable for both astronomical and terrestrial observations. The large focal length (900 millimeters, 35.4 inches) provides a clear picture and magnification of up to 140x.The telescope enables a detailed study of planets, lunar craters, seasons change on Mars and much more. As far as long distance objects are concerned, you can see all the Messier objects very well.

Features:

  • The telescope has a factory default adjustment and does not require additional and frequent adjustment;
  • Contrast and sharp images in high resolution without chromatic aberration;
  • Highly detailed pictures even at large aperture;
  • Can be used for photographing the Moon and planets;
  • Suitable for both terrestrial and astronomical observations;
  • Ideal for planetary observations and observations of binary stars;
  • Suitable for beginners.

The kit includes:

  • Telescope optical tube (optical elements inside)
  • SUPER 25 and SUPER 10 eyepieces
  • Equatorial mount EQ1
  • Aluminum tripod
  • 2x Barlow lens
  • Diagonal mirror
  • User manual and lifetime warranty

The equatorial mount, as opposed to an azimuth one, when being hovered compensates for the rotation of the Earth and allows more precise tracking of astronomical objects, keeping them within sight through the eyepiece. This mount is perfect for astronomical observations and indispensable for astrophotography. The aluminum tripod has adjustable height.

Two achromatic eyepieces SUPER 10 and SUPER 25 with a 1.25-inch (31.75-millimeter) diameter are included in the package and serve as powerful image correction tools. The optics used in the eyepiece are glass with a special coating. Field of view is 50–52 degrees.

Questions and Answers
Jay Mayes (2016.02.08)
Could you please help me to choose between these two models: Levenhuk Skyline 70x900 EQ and Levenhuk Strike 80 NG? I need it for planetary and deep-sky observing. According the specification tables the latter one has larger aperture... What's your opinion? Thanks!
Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 80 NG Telescope is a better choice due to its accessory set and large aperture. Levenhuk Skyline 70x900 EQ Telescope has a more stable mount and smooth navigation, but the objective lens diameter is smaller.
Sam Stone (2014.09.06)
How many x does this scope provide?
Customer service:
The highest practical power of the Levenhuk Skyline 70x900 EQ telescope is 140x.
Jacob Ellis (2014.08.19)
We were looking for a good telescope for our young astronomer for a while and recently decided in favor of Levenhuk Skyline 70x900 EQ. I've seen a couple of good reviews on this model online and apparently the reviewers were right, it's a great telescope. Whole our family enjoys observing starry sky, but our son is the happiest of us all - he is captivated by the Moon and has observed Saturn recently! Thank you :)
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk Skyline 70x700 AZ Telescope!
Derek Flynn (2014.01.16)
Hi ! I'm sorry for a dumb question.. But what's the difference between this model and Skyline 70x700 except the mount? What does longer focal length affect: image quality or something else?
Customer service:
It affects image quality at high magnifications (long focal length telescopes provide better quality).
Jerome (2013.12.18)
Is there something cheaper?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Ra EQ5 GoTo is the cheapest mount with GoTo function available in our store.
James Addison (2013.08.09)
and one more thing... the erecting prism 45 deg comes in the kit or not? I can see it on the pics but it is not mentioned in the product's description. If no, I'd like to purchase it at once, overwise I will go bust (delivery is not really that cheap). Thank you once again!
Customer service:
The erecting prism doesn't come in the kit. You can purchase it separately.
Tom Coppock (2013.07.28)
Hello! I want to buy a telescope that will be suitable for Solar System's planets observing and making astro pictures. I'm just a beginner and do not know anything yet. I would like to get not very expensive, within price range 200-300$, telescope. btw I have Canon EOS 1100D camera. Suggest me some telescope or maybe this model.
Customer service:
In the price range of $200-300 Levenhuk Skyline 70x900 EQ will be an optimal choice.
Jeff Carpenter (2013.06.01)
Which solar filter will fit this telescope (Levenhuk Skyline 70x900 EQ)?
Customer service:
Currently, solar filters are not available.
Justin Wensel (2013.03.13)
Tell me, please, the Barlow lens has some crucial importance when it comes to observing celestial objects or it makes more sense for terrestrial observations? For me models with this lens look more attractive... the choice is so wide, it's really hard to decide.
Customer service:
The Barlow lens is an achromatic lens that increases the effective focal length of the objective lens or primary mirror and doubles or triples the eyepiece's magnification (the exact magnification depends on the focal length of the Barlow lens and its position). Thus, the 30 mm eyepiece becomes 15 mm using 2x Barlow Lens. If the focal length of the telescope is 1200 mm, then one 30 mm eyepiece gives a 40x increase, and 80x increase with Barlow Lens. The characteristics and price/quality ratio make the Levenhuk Skyline 90x900 EQ telescope a good choice.
Roberta (2013.02.23)
I'd like to buy this telescope, but first I need to know what I can see out of it and how big it will appear?
Customer service:
The Levenhuk Skyline 70x900 EQ Telescope is best suited for observing nebulae, the Moon, and star clusters. The image of the Moon will be truly impressive with all its craters and mountains.
Terri (2011.09.19)
What's its weight? Assembled
Customer service:
The telescope's weight is 35.3 lbs. (with package).
