Description

The Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK Telescope with GoTo function is of the Maksutov-Cassegrain design. This allows an excellent image quality with high resolution while maintaining a very compact size. Through this telescope you can observe lunar craters with a diameter of just 4.5 miles, the structure of sunspots, the belts of Jupiter and Saturn's rings. Among deep-sky objects this telescope captures stars up to 12 magnitude, globular clusters, nebulae and galaxies.

The telescope has an aperture of f/12.7, which is perfectly suited for most astronomical observations. Maximum useful magnification of 204x and high resolution will provide good quality, sharp images.

Two achromatic eyepieces SUPER 10 and SUPER 25 with a 31.75-millimeter (1.25-inch) diameter are included in the package and serve as powerful image correction tools. The optics used in the eyepiece are glass with a special coating. Field of view is 50–52 degrees.

The telescope comes with an azimuth AZ 114 GT SynScan computer-guided mount. Thanks to the GoTo function, the telescope is capable of capturing any astronomical object with its coordinates stored in the microprocessor memory with incredible accuracy. This computer system will provide automatic guidance to more than 42,900 celestial objects. SkyMatic GoTo mounts are compatible with an external 12V battery pack.

The kit includes:

  • Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK Telescope
  • Eyepieces: 10mm and 25mm
  • Diagonal prism
  • Optical finder scope
  • GoTo mount with the SynScan AZ system
  • Tripod with an accessory tray

Questions and Answers
Deanna Hyde (2016.11.04)
hi! Can I observe Uranus, Pluto, Neptune?
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK allows you to see Uranus and Neptune, but they will appear as tiny disks.
Ann Wolfe (2016.10.10)
Hello! Can I use Solar System Levenhuk F8 Filter Set and Levenhuk Solar Filter for 102mm Refractor Telescopes with this telescope? Can I use Sky-Watcher erecting prism with this scope? Will it affect image quality? I'm also thinking about buying Levenhuk Super Plossl 6.3, but I have my doubts because of exceeding the highest practical power.
Customer service:
Yes, Solar System Levenhuk F8 Filter Set and Levenhuk Solar Filter for 102mm Refractor Telescopes are suitable for use with Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK Telescope. You can also install the erecting prism – insert it into the eyepiece tube, it doesn't affect image quality. Achieving the highest power and especially exceeding it always leads to a significant decrease in image quality.
Judi White (2015.11.02)
Hi! 1. will I see asteroids with this telescope? 2. is it able to detect new asteroids? Like tiny ones? If not, which telescope does that? 3. and one more thing... I'm actually planning on buying this telescope a little later (maybe even a year from now). So what's the tendency with prices? Is it gonna be much more expensive? or maybe cheaper? Thank you!
Customer service:
The Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK model allows you to observe asteroids, large and small ones, and, if you are lucky, you can even discover currently unknown asteroids. The amount of details mostly depends on the objective lens diameter (aperture). The large the objective lens, the more small objects you will be able to see. Unfortunately, it is impossible to predict the model's future price.
Chloe Silva (2015.03.23)
Can I observe images on my PC monitor?
Customer service:
If you equip Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK with a special eyepiece digital camera you will be able to observe images in real time on your PC monitor. Please consider digital cameras presented in this catalog section: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-digital-cameras/ .
Ismail Baig (2015.02.25)
Truth be told, if I was choosing a telescope now, I would probably choose some other model... with more features... Also I believe that the electronics of the telescope is overpriced. Overall, the telescope is good... You can see Jupiter. It's even possible to take photos. Jupiter's moons appear as four stars. You can observe Saturn (it's important to understand that you won't get such quality pictures like on the internet). Everything appears much smaller.
Conclusions:
Pros. Easy to use and assemble. Compact dimensions. I take it with me to the countryside (I just put it on the back seat of my car, it only takes one seat, so the other one is free for another passenger). Yesterday I ordered a special case here, so it will be even more convenient to transport and store the instrument, I guess.
Cons.
I expected more.. But my lack of experience affected my choice... For beginners it is good, but, as I said before, now I would prefer something more interesting.
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK Telescope!
Andrew Sims (2015.01.27)
Hi! 1. Is it possible to use this telescope for terrestrial observations? 2. Does it support manual control? 3. Does it work by mains or batteries? 4. Can I power it by 12V car battery? 5. As far as I know for astrophotography you need an equatorial mount. What am I supposed to shoot using this telescope then? 6. Does the cable that connects the telescope to PC (included in the kit as far as I remember) require any adapter? Thanks!
Customer service:
1. For terrestrial observations you need to purchase additional erecting prism, which is unfortunately currently unavailable in our store. 2. You can control the telescope manually using the 'up' and 'down' buttons. 3. It is powered by batteries. 4. Yes, you can do that, but you need a special adapter, which is unfortunately is not in our product range at the moment. 5. You are right, for deep-sky astrophotography an equatorial mount is required, but for shooting the Moon and planets you can use the mount that comes with Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK. 6. To control the telescope from your computer you need to purchase a standard USB to RS-232 adapter.
Zach Oneil (2014.11.08)
What power source can be used instead of batteries? 11-15V / 1A? If the voltage is less than needed value, the telescope will "burn" or simply will not start? And what If amps would be different?
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK Telescope can be powered by any source with the following parameters: from 11 to 15V DC 1 Amp (+). Using a power source with other parameters is prohibited, as it can bring the telescope down.
Brad Holder (2014.04.02)
Can I set this telescope on an equatorial mount?
Customer service:
Yes, you can set Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK on equatorial mount.
Jamie (2014.03.12)
Comparing this model and Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK - is there any difference except for the focal length? Any difference in quality of astro photos?
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK Telescope has larger objective lens diameter (aperture) and as a consequence greater increase, as a result quality of astro photos will also be higher.
Ivan Brady (2014.03.09)
Tell me please if it's reasonable to buy 4x DeepSky 1.25" Barlow Lens (will be used together with SUPER 25 mm (52x) eyepiece) to achieve the maximum magnification for observing large objects as, for example, the Moon, Sun (with solar filter) in detail?
Customer service:
Yes, you can use 4x DeepSky 1.25" Barlow lens. But to obtain the maximum useful magnification of Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK it is more appropriate to use 6mm eyepiece, for example Levenhuk Plössl 6mm Eyepiece - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/levenhuk-plossl-6mm-eyepiece/
Harvey Manning (2014.03.02)
Is there any similarly priced alternative models?
Customer service:
By price/quality ratio Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK is the most preferable choice.
Harvey Manning (2014.02.21)
if I buy 2x or 3x BL and use it with SUPER 10 mm eyepiece (130x) - will the highest practical power be exceeded- and in such case will the image be blurred?
Customer service:
Yes, that's correct. The highest practical power will be exceeded and as a consequence the image will be blurred. We recommend you to use Levenhuk Plössl 6mm Eyepiece: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/levenhuk-plossl-6mm-eyepiece/
Max Glover (2014.02.11)
how to I align the telescope to the star ? Is there any instructions or video lessons?
Customer service:
You can download Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK user manual here: https://loc.levenhuk.com/upload/uf/062/iojkuffmc8jxmw1iisyi4lch71qp4o3d/lvh-telescopes-skymatic-um-ml.pdf
Max Glover (2014.02.07)
bought Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK. What do I need to take pictures? Thanx in advance
Customer service:
Canon, Nikon or Sony SLR camera will help you with taking pictures. To attach camera use a special T-ring, that should be chosen depending on the camera brand. Also please consider using special digital cameras designed for astrophotography: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-digital-cameras/
Seth Erickson (2014.02.04)
Elisa Salas (2013.12.04)
Hi!
I'm looking for a bday present for my husband. I do not have any experience in astronomy at all. What would you suggest?
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK Telescope would be a great choice! This telescope features quite large objective lens diameter (you will be able to see planets' disks and the Moon in details) and stable tripod.
Runy Hamilton (2013.10.24)
Is there anything I need to buy additionally to make the telescope provide the highest magnification? What this magnification would be?
Customer service:
The highest magnification of the Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK telescope is 204x. You don't have to purchase anything but a Barlow lens.
Diane Cain (2013.10.12)
Hi. If I purchase Levenhuk 1.5x erecting eyepiece , I will get an erect image and comfortable magnification of 195x with a 10 mm eyepiece that comes in the kit. am I right?
Customer service:
Yes, everything’s correct.
Lora Morris (2013.10.03)
excuse me, it's me again. I have a 7.5 mm eyepiece. Which Barlow lens do I need: 2x or 3x?
Customer service:
When you combine 2x BL and 7.5 mm eyepiece, the magnification is 346x. When you combine 3x BL and 7.5 mm eyepiece the magnification is 520x.
Lora Morris (2013.10.03)
when I was purchasing it I was told that there is no need in purchasing a Barlow lens and that instead of it a 7.5 mm eyepiece is worth buying. Is that true?
Customer service:
You can use different combinations. The magnification of the telescope is 173x when 7.5 mm eyepiece is used. It's a comfortable magnification without losing the quality of the image.
Lora Morris (2013.10.03)
Maybe it's a silly question but tell me please what is that screwdriver (included in the kit) for? Can I buy an adapter for this telescope? What's the voltage? Thanks
Customer service:
A screwdriver is supposed to be included in the kit of telescopes of such level.
Yes. You can buy some power supply, which is 12V.
Kyle Wilson (2013.09.17)
HI! Recommend me please a good telescope for astrophotograpy ( at least for the moon, preferably appearing large). The price is up to $700-$800. I've got Canon 20d camera. And also what accessories do I need? Thanks!
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK would be the best choice. Also you need a T-ring designed for Canon cameras.

Is mount purchased separately or is it in the kit already?
Customer service:
The mount is included in the kit.
Nichole Cepero (2013.07.26)
How does an automatic guidance system work on this telescope?
Customer service:
The automatic guidance system determines the location of targeted objects right after initial positioning. It can track the object automatically, which is very useful.
Richard Punches (2013.07.21)
I decided to purchase this telescope. Is it possible to observe from the balcony in the city? What exactly can I observe in this case?
Customer service:
Yes. This model is great for observing in the city. You can observe Solar System planets, the Moon, star clusters and nebulae.
William Tuckerman (2013.06.22)
is it worth choosing Celestron NexStar 127 SLT rather than this Levenhuk one due to larger aperture? Or is this Levenhuk still better?
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK has a more advanced guidance system.
Ed (2013.06.22)

Anna Jones (2013.06.02)
Hi! I've bought Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK from you. Our kid ripped all the papers that came with it including user manual. Maybe you have it uploaded online? If so could you please provide a link.
Customer service:
You can find the User Manual on the References and Downloads tab on the product page. Or by simply following this link: https://loc.levenhuk.com/upload/uf/062/iojkuffmc8jxmw1iisyi4lch71qp4o3d/lvh-telescopes-skymatic-um-ml.pdf
Matt Stevens (2013.05.28)
Help me please to find a telescope that is able to show Venus and Mercury well and so I could distinguish Pluto somehow
Customer service:
Take a note of this one: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-skymatic-127-gt-mak-telescope/
Sherilyn Junker (2013.05.19)
heck yeah! :-) There are drivers for this mount in Stellarium. Moreover, after the installation even RedShift began to control the telescope ( if you choose Celestron Telescopes). Maybe someone will appreciate this piece of info.
The telescope itself I "taught" to track the objects right after an automatic guidance by installing the 3.07 version of firmware.
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK!
Sherilyn Junker (2013.05.17)
Of course I'd try it if such title was on the list. I've tried everything. It seems like Levenhuk is passed by :(
Why the manufacturers don't provide the drivers? Or some compatible soft? They've failed, you know. Lol
Customer service:
Do you use the latest version of Redshift? If not, try Stellarium instead, its free planetarium software.
Sherilyn Junker (2013.05.17)
Everything's great now! This telescope indeed can track celestial objects! Bingo! But I still can't connect it to the PC. There are no appropriate mounts on the list. Not one of the mounts on the list matches :(
Customer service:
The list of mounts varies depending on the software version. Try this one: SynScan AZGT.
Sherilyn Junker (2013.05.17)
I've just became a happy owner of this telescope. Unfortunately, it won't track captured object. It just navigates once to it, and then I have to hold it manually :(
Also i can't connect it to PC, there is no control systems driver. My computer doesn't identify this device. what do i do? I've tried to "make them friends" with RedShift 6 Premium. It has this utility ASCOM Dome Control Pane. My telescope is not on the list of supported models :( what do i do?
Customer service:
In Setup Mode menu you can find an automatic-tracking control setting to make your telescope track the object by itself.
To connect it to PC follow these simple rules:

Make sure that the telescope is properly aligned before proceeding. You should only plug it into a computer after checking the alignment. Use the cable supplied in the
kit. Make sure that you use the cable provided, as any error in a substitute may damage your hand controller or computer. Once plugged in, you can operate your telescope from a computer using planetarium software.
Ron Archer (2013.04.23)
how do I connect GPS navigator to the SkyMatic 105 GT MAK?
Customer service:
Unfortunately there is no such option, you need to enter the coordinates to the system yourself.
Ron Archer (2013.04.21)
Why doesn't SkyMatic 105 GT MAK show GPS coordinates? There is a message on the screen: "No GPS found"
Customer service:
The Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK model doesn't have a GPS module. You need to enter coordinates manually.
Debi (2013.04.20)
Good day! What's the warranty for auto guidance system?
Customer service:
Auto guidance system is covered by lifetime warranty.
Lara (2013.03.19)
Will Levenhuk 105 GT MAK mount allow me to observe from the balcony what's down there (negative angle)?
Customer service:
No, it won't let you do that.
Jeff (2013.03.10)
I've bought Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK, the T-ring for the Nikon camera( I have Nikon D90), but I'm still unable to connect the camera. I guess I need some another device. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Customer service:
The problem is not the telescope. We recommended you contact your camera's support service. Our customers usually have no problems with photo equipment.
Nichole Cepero (2013.02.15)
Which planets of the solar system can I see through this telescope?
Customer service:
The Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK telescope is perfect to distinguish the belts of Jupiter and Saturn's rings. White polar caps and dark spots and stripes are distinguishable on the reddish Mars during the opposition (approaching to the Earth). Five planets: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Earth's natural satellite - the Moon - you can observe in detail.
Louise Scanlon (2013.02.04)
Hi I wanna buy Levenhuk 1.5x erecting eyepiece to this telescope for a terrestrial observations. I suppose combined with a 10 mm eyepiece included in the kit it will give me 195x magnification and an erect images. Does it make sense to buy 6.3 mm eyepiece and Barlow lens for planetary and deep sky observations in that case?
Customer service:
Yes, it makes sense because using an erecting eyepiece leads to significant loss of quality.
