Description

Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK is a powerful, yet compact, Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope that yields detailed, high-quality views of the lunar surface, planetary disks, binary stars and compact nebulae. With a relatively large aperture and standard 1.25" eyepieces of this telescope, you will be able to observe nebulae and star clusters, while the GoTo mount with computerized drive systems will allow you to capture breathtaking images of Solar System planets and the Moon with ease. This practical instrument is a perfect choice for amateur stargazers, as it navigates to any celestial object automatically, yet it still is a powerful telescope that allows experienced stargazers to try their hand at astrophotography.

The azimuth GoTo mount with a SynScan AZ hand controller is extremely easy to use. Navigating to the most interesting celestial objects does not require any experience or knowledge, as the telescope will do everything by itself. The database of SynScan AZ includes over 42,000 objects, so you will never run out of things to observe. To make things even easier, the mount may be connected to a PC and controlled by any planetarium software.

Focusing the view is achieved by adjusting the primary mirror with a precise focus knob.

The kit includes:

  • Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK Telescope
  • Eyepieces: 10mm and 25mm
  • Diagonal prism
  • 2x Barlow lens with a camera adapter
  • Lunar filter
  • Optical finder scope
  • GoTo mount with the SynScan AZ system
  • Tripod with an accessory tray
  • Hand controller
  • Battery compartment
  • Set of connecting cables
  • Tools for assembly
  • Compass
  • User manual and lifetime warranty

Levenhuk SkyMatic series includes reflectors and Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes with GoTo. The computerized drive systems on both axes of the mount and intuitive controls of SynScan AZ significantly reduce the time it takes to find the hidden jewels of the celestial sphere, allowing you to observe the most interesting objects without having to spend precious time on checking astronomical charts. Levenhuk SkyMatic telescopes with GoTo mounts are smart telescopes that find stars themselves. SkyMatic GoTo mounts are compatible with an external 12V battery pack.

Questions and Answers
Scott (2019.06.08)
I am looking for a telescope for both sky and terrestrial viewing. For terrestrial viewing how do you/can you get the image to be right-side up/not flipped?
Customer service:
Dear Scott, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products. Refractor and MAK telescopes will produce an image that is upside down when used without a diagonal. When a diagonal (comes in the kit with all models) is used the image will be corrected right side up, but backwards from left to right. It will look like trying to read a sign in a mirror. There are special diagonals called Erect Image Prism diagonals that can correct the backwards image for land use.
Are you interested in the telescope with Go To function? The Go TO function will work for celestial objects. The Levenhuk Skymatic 127 GT MAK telescope is very powerful model so you be able to observe objects at great detail.
Lindsey (2017.09.10)
Hello. Can I observe ground objects using this telescope? If not, how can I find a multipurpose one?
Customer service:
You can use Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK telescope for observing ground objects.
MIKE (2016.09.24)
ADMIN,
IVE HEARD THAT IF YOU BUY a 99% diagonal like the 1.25" Orion Dielectric Mirror Star Diagonal it will boost this telescope aperture so you can see enhanced image and contrasty of items viewed......Want to know if its real..
Thanks
Customer service:
Dear Mike, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products. The dielectric coating of the mirrors boasts a 99% reflectivity that yields sharp and bright views of observed objects. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
Maude Kent (2016.07.24)
Hello! Could you please answer a few questions:
1. How can I connect MacBook Air?
2. Does it work with Bresser SA 5x Barlow lens?
3. Bought rechargeable AA batteries (1.2V). They last about 2 hours... What might the problem be?
4. Can I turn the telescope on and off using the hand controller? without unplugging it and loosing all settings (each time I need to re-enter longitude, width, time, and make polar alignment).
5. What kind of eyepieces are best for deep sky?
Customer service:
Hello!
1. Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK is not compatible with MacBook Air.
2. We don't recommend using Bresser Barlow lens SA-5x. It will cause significant deterioration in the image quality. To get more powerful magnification, it's better to use a short focal length eyepiece.
3. There is not enough voltage, you need 12V. You can also buy an AC adapter.
4. You must save the settings before unplugging the instrument. Please refer to the user manual where this procedure is thoroughly described.
5. For deep-sky observations wide angle eyepieces are the best. Please also check this article - https://www.levenhuk.com/blog/knowledge-base-telescopes/a-short-guide-to-choosing-eyepieces/
Helen Weaver (2016.05.08)
Hello! Does the kit include a case or bag? Is it possible to control the telescope manually? And what about optical coatings?
Customer service:
1. No, the case is not included with Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK Telescope. Take a look at Levenhuk Zongo 80 Telescope Case; Large, Blue - https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/other/bags-cases-and-pouches/levenhuk-zongo-80-telescope-case/ . 2. You can control the telescope with the hand controller (arrow buttons). 3. The optics are fully multi-coated.

Chloe (2015.03.27)
Recently we bought Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK telescope with an autoguider. We would like to do astrophotography (including long exposure shots). The description says that for this purpose we have to install the scope on an equatorial wedge. So here comes our question... Where to find suitable equatorial wedge for this telescope?
Thank you in advance!
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK Telescope comes with the azimuth GoTo mount. In order to install this telescope model on an equatorial wedge you will need an equatorial mount.
Willard Mays (2014.12.18)
I bought this telescope 2 years ago... The telescope itself isn't bad, you can actually see 4 Jupiter's moons, binary stars, but the mount is not good enough if you ask me. It consumes a lot, you have to use really powerful battery with it. I didn't experience any benefits from this auto navigation thing... It was kind of hard for me to figure out how to use it. So I observe old school!
Customer service:
Of course, learning how to use the autoguiding system takes some time and effort, but once you understand how it works, you won't have any troubles. On the contrary, you will see that this mount greatly simplifies navigation process. So we suggest you take some time to learn how to operate your telescope, you won't regret it!
Craig (2014.08.20)
Bought it three weeks ago for myself to do astrophotography. Astrophotos are just great, pictures of lunar surface and Mars during opposition are especially detailed. This scope is easily transportable, equipped with quality optics and reliable tripod. I think this model is the best possible choice for my country house, my wife and kids are absolutely delighted!!!
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on the Levenhuk Skymatic 127 GT MAK telescope.
John Leasure (2014.06.02)
What is the best eyepiece for observing star clusters and galaxies or deep sky objects?
Customer service:
Dear John, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products!
With the help of this telescope you will be able to observe: * Binary stars from 1"" and more, faint stars up to 13 stellar magnitude; * Details of the Lunar mountains and craters with the size of 2-2.5 miles; * With a blue filter you can try to distinguish the spots in the clouds on Venus; * Numerous details on Mars during the oppositions; * Details in the belts of Jupiter; * Cloud bands of Saturn; * A lot of faint asteroids and comets; * Hundreds of star clusters, nebulae and galaxies; * Traces of spiral structure of the brightest galaxies ( M33 , M51).
In order to get the highest practical power, I'd recommend to consider buying a 6-6.5 mm eyepiece, for example Levenhuk Ra LER 6mm, 1.25" Eyepiece (http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/levenhuk-ra-ler-6mm-1-25-eyepiece/ ).
Is there any additional information you might need? Looking forward to your reply.
Ted Stuart (2014.05.03)
I bought this telescope here, assembled it according to the instructions... And I faced one problem: when managing the mount manually using the remote control the telescope's motion is only available in three directions: up-and-down (change of angular position relative to the horizon) and counterclockwise rotation. Clockwise rotation is not performed. What should be done in this situation?
Customer service:
To promptly solve this situation we recommend you to contact our Customer Service Department by using this form - http://www.levenhuk.com/company/contact-us/
Ann (2014.04.03)
Hi! My birthday is coming soon and I've decided to please myself with Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK:) I've spent all week searching for the universal model that could show me most of the celestial objects, not very heavy, with high image quality. Could you advise me some accessories so I could observe planets and deep sky, the Sun, Moon, some cleaning tools. Do you have it all available at the moment? I need a complete set with all nesessary filters, eyepieces for maximum magnification, a prism for terrestrial objects, maybe some color filters. And one thing more... just to make sure - this telescope does have the go-to function, right?
Customer service:
We recommend you to purchase 6-6.5 mm eyepiece, for example Levenhuk Ra LER 6mm, 1.25" Eyepiece (http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/levenhuk-ra-ler-6mm-1-25-eyepiece/ ).
To get 'terrestrial' image you need an erecting prism, which is unfortunately currently unavailable. We also recommend Solar System Levenhuk F4 Filter Set - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-filters/levenhuk-solar-system-f4-filter-set/ and Levenhuk Optics Cleaning Cloth - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/other/optics-cleaning-tools/levenhuk-optics-cleaning-cloth/ . Yes, Levenhuk SkyMatic 127 GT MAK is equipped with Go To mount.
Rebecca Molina (2014.01.05)
Tell me please why while entering current time I press Enter, and this setting continues to blink.

Adkins (2013.12.04)
Admin,With extra 2.5mm - 7mm eyepice with barlow will i get excellent view.
Which barlow lens is good for this scope 3x or 5x or better. Magnification is also limited to 250 will eyepiece increase it above 250 to say 350.Since this scope is not all that popular cant get good information on it.
Customer service:
Dear Adkins, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products!
To get this telescope to its highest practical power you need a 6-6.5 mm eyepiece, for example Levenhuk Ra LER 6mm, 1.25" Eyepiece (http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/levenhuk-ra-ler-6mm-1-25-eyepiece/ ).
It is better to buy an eyepiece not Barlow lens as the image will be more detailed.
Is there any additional information you might need?
Looking forward to your reply.

Deanna Steppard (2013.10.19)
How is correction due to the Earth rotation of the telescope automatic guidance system done?
Customer service:
So the telescope would correctly navigate to celestial objects, first of all you need to align it to two or three well-known stars. Since the Earth rotates continuously around its axis, it seems that celestial objects in the sky move in an arc. Provided with the correct data, the telescope can reproduce the model of the sky and the movement of the celestial objects. Alignment to the star can be done at any time during the observation by selecting Alignment option in the Setup Mode submenu of the main menu. You can find detailed information on this subject in the User Manual: https://loc.levenhuk.com/upload/uf/062/iojkuffmc8jxmw1iisyi4lch71qp4o3d/lvh-telescopes-skymatic-um-ml.pdf
Jennifer Shaw (2013.10.15)
Which filters are suitable for this telescope? How do I take care of it?
Customer service:
These filters suit the telescope: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-filters/ .
Telescopes with such optical design are easy to take care of (the tube is closed, which prevents the pollution of inner optical components and reduces air flow formations inside the telescope).
Jean Bailey (2013.10.15)
teell me please at what temperatures can I use the telescope? Is it suitable for winter observations? Do servomotors need any technical maintenance?
Customer service:
Operation temperature range is from -22 °F to +95 °F. It suits winter observations wonderfully. No special maintenance is required.
