Description

The Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA Telescope is a reflector on an azimuth mount with GoTo function. This large aperture (f/5) telescope is not only suitable for astronomical observations, but also for astrophotography. Lunar craters with a diameter of just 4.5 miles, the rings of Saturn, the seasons change on Mars, and the distant nebulae and galaxies: can all be observed in detail through this telescope. You can also watch the most striking objects from the Messier and NGC catalogues, asteroids, comets, and more.

Maximum useful magnification in the telescope is 260x with the resolution of 1.1". Such a combination ensures the highest HD picture quality with magnification, suitable for most astronomical observations.

Two achromatic eyepieces SUPER 10 and SUPER 25 with a 31.75-millimeter (1.25-inch) diameter are included in the package and serve as powerful image correction tools. The optics used in the eyepiece are glass with a special coating. Field of view is 50–52 degrees.

The telescope comes with an azimuth AZ 114 GT SynScan computer-guided mount. Thanks to the GoTo function, the telescope is capable of capturing any astronomical object with its coordinates stored in the microprocessor memory with incredible accuracy. This computer system will provide automatic guidance to more than 42,900 celestial objects. SkyMatic GoTo mounts are compatible with an external 12V battery pack.

Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA Telescope is a true godsend for inexperienced stargazers: the computer-controlled mounting system will point the instrument at one of the 42,900 celestial objects stored in its database.

The kit includes:

  • Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA Telescope
  • Eyepieces: 10mm and 25mm
  • 1.25/2" adapter

Hello! How to achieve the maximum possible magnification with this telescope? What accessories will I need?
Customer service:
To obtain the maximum useful magnification of the Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA telescope we would recommend using 2.5 mm eyepiece (260x).
Ron Dillon (2015.01.07)
How do you think, is this telescope suitable for a beginner, I'd like to try my hand at astrophotography, observe lunar surface, Solar System planets.
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA Telescope is more suitable for observing deep-sky objects. Please, consider more universal telescope model - Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK Telescope (http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-skymatic-105-gt-mak-telescope/ ).
Charlie (2014.12.27)
I ordered this telescope on this website and I have a problem with it...
When I try to observe the Moon, it doesn't seem to be magnified 260-fold, as it should be according to specifications. The Moon appears the same way as I see it with the naked eye. Moreover, when I look into the finderscope, the image is much better, than through the telescope itself.
What am I doing wrong?
the same thing happens when I insert 25mm eyepiece (I see the exact image as without the telescope) and when I use 10 mm eyepiece I don't see anything at all. Is it malfunction?
Customer service:
Probably, you just need to align the instrument. If this doesn't help, please contact our Customer Service Department - http://www.levenhuk.com/company/contact-us/ .
Ann Dunlap (2014.12.27)
Hello!
I'd like to know, which solar filter that you have in the product range is more suitable for this telescope? Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA?
In one of the previous questions you recommended 114mm filter and also told that 127mm can't be fixed on this telescope. But I don't get it... 114 solar filter has 114mm diameter and diameter of the telescope tube is 135, right? Please clarify.
Customer service:
Unfortunately, there's no perfectly suitable filter for the Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA telescope in our product range. You can use 127mm filter, but you need to additionally secure it on the telescope tube.
Ben Waller (2014.12.15)
How can I solve the problem with inverted images? what accessories should I use?
Customer service:
Unfortunately, there are no accessories of this type for Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA. To get "terrestrial" images we recommend using refractors. In this case use of an erecting prism will help.
Ben Waller (2014.12.15)
Hi! Can I use this telescope to observe terrestrial objects? Or it inverts the picture up and down?
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA Telescope produces upside-down mirrored images.
MICHAEL (2014.12.12)
ADMIN,
HOW DO I INCREASE THE
Focal length, mm 650 to higher focal length
Customer service:
Dear Michael, thank you for your inquiry.
The focal length can be increased with the help of a Barlow lens.
Is there any additional information you might need?
Ashley Keele (2014.11.13)
We live in a very cold climate. In the winter it regularly gets below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. What are the tempurature limitations of the Skymatic 135 GTA.
Customer service:
Dear Ashley, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products.

Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA telescope can withstand temperatures down to 20 degrees F below zero.

Is there any additional information you might need?

Looking forward to your reply.
Bryan Torbert (2014.11.05)
Greetings! Thank you for your prompt response! I'd like to continue my previous question.
Using Levenhuk 2x Barlow Lens with Camera Adapter, can I get a clear focus with Nikon D90. (if I remove the lenses)?
Customer service:
Levenhuk 2x Barlow Lens with Camera Adapter will increase the telescope's focal length and thereby solve your problem. You cannot remove the lenses. Images should be made through the Barlow lens.
Warren Sharp (2014.10.27)
Hi there! Do I get it right that to connect my camera to the telescope I need a T-adapter?
Customer service:
The focuser of the Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA has a T-thread, so you don't need a T-adapter. All you need is a T-ring (M42x0.75mm) for your camera.
Max Santos (2014.09.28)
Hello! I have a problem... When I turn it on the menu says "No link to mount Stand alone mode" and when I'm trying to type in coordinates and time zone the screen displays "Choose menu: Setup Mode". But it should be "Begin alignment" section, no? Earlier when I was pressing buttons on the remote control the mount was moving in all directions. And now nothing happens. So how can I connect the telescope to PC? I bought a special cable but my planetarium software (Cartes du Ciel) doesn't recognize it. I didn't find any useful information on the internet. Thanks for your help!
Customer service:
You can find all necessary information on telescope adjustment by following this link - https://loc.levenhuk.com/upload/uf/062/iojkuffmc8jxmw1iisyi4lch71qp4o3d/lvh-telescopes-skymatic-um-ml.pdf . Donna McCoy (2014.08.07)
Hello! Tell me please what lenses should I buy to be able to observe Solar System objects as well? It seems that it's only suitable for deep-sky according to your description.
Customer service:
The Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA telescope is indeed more suitable for observing deep-sky objects, but it can be used for observing planets and satellites as well. To observe Solar System objects we recommend using Levenhuk Plössl 6.3 mm Eyepiece - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/levenhuk-plossl-6mm-eyepiece/
Bud Phagan (2014.07.02)
Can get an adapter to use a camera with this telescope.
Customer service:
Dear Bud, thank you for your inquiry.
I regret to inform you that we do not have camera adapters in our product range.
We have special cameras for telescope, which come with all necessary accessories.
You can find them here online:
http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-digital-cameras/
Is there any additional information you might need?
Looking forward to your reply.
LANA (2014.06.07)
Hello! I've recently asked you about solar filters for Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA. You have recommended {{ {{ http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/levenhuk-114mm-solar-filter/.link.link }} }}. But isn't this one {{ {{ http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/levenhuk-127mm-solar-filter/.link.link }} }} more suitable?
Customer service:
Levenhuk 114 mm Solar Filter is more suitable for Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA.
Tommy Spickett (2014.06.04)
Everything's great now! The chart is very helpful, should have used it from the start. Can I observe nebulae and galaxies with it? I only saw Saturn, Mars, Regulus, Arctus and the Moon so far.
Customer service:
Yes, of course. With Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA you can see hundreds of star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. When observing the brightest galaxies you will be able to see traces of spiral structure (M33, M51). Also you can observe a large number of objects from NGC catalog and their interesting details.
Tommy Spickett (2014.06.03)
I know absolutely nothing about locating stars on the sky... I have no idea where the Arctus is... The only thing I can find is the Moon:)
Customer service:
You should use a star chart, for instance, Levenhuk M20 Large Planisphere - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/other/books-charts-and-posters/levenhuk-m20-large-planisphere/
Tommy Spickett (2014.06.02)
Hello! I've bought this telescope. Tell me, which star it's better to use for alignment?
Customer service:
Arctus, for example.
LANA (2014.05.31)
Tell me please, to observe the Sun through this telescope is it necessary to use full aperture solar filter? I mean this telescope doesn't have lenses, which can be overheated during unprotected observation of the Sun... i.e. can I use eyepiece solar filter with it?
Customer service:
Eyepiece solar filters are not available in our store. Full aperture solar filter provides a more safe (in all respects) way of observing the Sun. Please, pay attention to Levenhuk Solar Filter for 130mm Reflector Telescopes - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-filters/levenhuk-solar-filter-for-130mm-reflector-telescopes/
Kristin Tincknell (2014.05.22)
Unfortunately, currently you do not have an eyepiece with a focal length of 2.5 mm. Can I replace it with these two:
{{ {{ http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/levenhuk-a3x-barlow-lens/.link.link }} }}
{{ {{ http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/levenhuk-plossl-7-5mm-eyepiece/.link.link }} }}
Customer service:
Yes, with these accessories resulting magnification will be about 260x.
Kristin Tincknell (2014.05.22)
Hello! Could you give me an advice? 1. Do I need 2x Barlow lens with camera adapter or can I just use the regular one if I already have a T-ring for Nikon cameras? 2. Which eyepiece should I choose: 2.5 / 5 / 6.5 / 10 mm?
Customer service:
1. T-ring for Nikon cameras will be enough. 2. We recommend using a 2.5 mm eyepiece with the Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA telescope. With this eyepiece you will obtain the maximum useful magnification of 260x.
Lori Delaney (2014.05.01)
and which eyepieces can I use with this model to get the highest practical power of the instrument? I have 3.5 or 4 mm in mind... and one more question. Do you have any varied focal length eyepieces for this model? Thanks in advance!!!
Customer service:
To obtain the highest practical power of Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA you need to use 2.5 mm eyepiece. Please pay attention to Levenhuk Zoom 8-24 mm Eyepiece - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/levenhuk-ra-zoom-8-24mm-1-25-eyepiece/
Frustration (2014.04.28)
I spent a lot of money on the 135 GTA and I got a manual all in another language, which I can't read. My telescope doesn't focus on much and when it does, it isn't zoomed or close but the same as if you didn't have a telescope. I was looking forward to this Levenhuk scope for WEEKS. I called you guys but got no reply. I will be happier if this actually worked... plz... plzzz help me so I won't be frustrated.
Customer service:
Thank you for your inquiry.

Tyrone Mullen (2014.04.02)
Greetings! Please, help me to choose from the following models: Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA, Levenhuk Strike 1000 PRO, Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK. I need a quality instrument for planetary observations and observing deep sky objects as well. or maybe you could recommend something else? $600 tops.
Customer service:
Among these models that you've mentioned we'd like to point out Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK - http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-skymatic-105-gt-mak-telescope/ as the best option for you.
Joseph Vega (2014.02.27)
oh yeah I wanna all at once - planets and deep sky! :)
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA Telescope is suitable for deep-sky observations but less suitable for planets. Consider more flexible telescope equally suitable for both purposes: Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK Telescope http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-skymatic-105-gt-mak-telescope/
Juliane Wright (2013.12.15)
Hello! We are confused. We are beginners, so we want all at once: to observe Solar System planets, deep-sky objects, the Moon, planets, take pictures. It should be easy to control. Please recommend us anything like that if it's possible. The price of around $600 is fine.
Customer service:
We recommend you consider Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK Telescope http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-skymatic-105-gt-mak-telescope/ . It's suitable for planetary observations as well as for observing deep-sky objects. Also it is perfect for astrophotography.
Julie Schanhals (2013.10.27)
Hello!
Does 135GTA have 12V power jack?
Customer service:
Yes, Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA model has a 12V power jack.
Anthony OLSEN (2013.10.24)
Can I keep this telescope in a cold paned balcony all year round? It's not mentioned in the manual. Only that it can be used down to 20 degrees below zero.
Customer service:
Yes, you can. The main thing is when it's wet outside or when you transport from a cold to warm place, let it acclimate for half an hour.
Eric DeMIlle (2013.10.22)
Hi. Please put the beginner on the right track. There are so many choices that my mind is totally blown. I need a telescope with quality optics, reasonable price and I wanna observe not just jupiter but its famous atmospheric spot, rings and moons of saturn and deep sky objects of course. thanks a lot in advance
Customer service:
The Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA model suits well for beginners. Its large aperture, excellent build quality and auto guidance system will let you enjoy astronomy, not worry about how to manage a telescope.
Eric DeMIlle (2013.10.22)
Thanks for advice. Levenhuk rules!!!
Customer service:
You're welcome!
Eric DeMIlle (2013.10.22)
So will I be able to see jupiter and it's spot and saturn with its moon titan?
Customer service:
Yes, Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GT allows you to see these celestial objects.
Eric DeMIlle (2013.10.21)
Tell me please what would the magnification be if I install 2x Barlow lens on this telescope. Is there any BL more than 2x? Thanks
Customer service:
Using 2x Barlow lens with the Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA model you will get 130x magnification. More powerful Barlow lenses are 3x.
Kevin Hofland (2013.10.17)
Thanks for the answer! And what if we rule out terrestrial observations?
Customer service:
The Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA model is excellent for astronomical observations and astrophotography.
Kevin Hofland (2013.10.16)
Hi! I'm not sure I got it right. I need a telescope for a beginner ( I've NOT begun yet) astrophotographer ( and just photographer - I mean I wanna use it for terrestrial objects too). I've got canon 5d and canon 10d cameras. Suggest me please some suitable adapter. is it worth buying BL right away and which one? and finally - maybe this telescope is a wrong choice for my purposes?
Customer service:
It's impossible to use the Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA model for terrestrial observations. The image is reversed upside down and mirrored left to right. A refracting telescope would be a better choice for you.
To attach your camera you need a T- ring.
Michael (2013.10.15)
Dear admin, I am interested in the following: what's the difference between this device and "more advanced" Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK model? Is it image qulity? Weight? Something else?
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA is a reflector, perfect for deep-sky observations. Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK has more flexible Maksutov-Cassegrain optical design, excellent for both planetary and deep-sky observations. Compared with refractors and reflectors, a Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with the same aperture will have a lot more compact sizes.
Joanne (2013.10.14)
Hi. How am I supposed to update SynScan if the manual reads that I have to open SunScanVXXXXAZ.ssf file. Where do I get one?
Customer service:
You need to download the software and follow the instructions. You can find it on the References and Downloads tab. The telescope has to be connected to the PC.
Mitchell Buchan (2013.10.13)
THANKS A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Customer service:
You are always welcome!
Mitchell Buchan (2013.10.12)
Excuse me, but this telescope doesn't connect to the PC! I just can't find any ports for the cable! Help me please!
Customer service:
Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA telescope can be connected to a PC! You need a regular COM port: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_port
Mitchell Buchan (2013.10.09)
Thanks a lot for all the advices and consulting! You have a great store here! Thanks again!
Customer service:
You are always welcome!
Mitchell Buchan (2013.10.08)
Is this telescope's mirror long term?
Customer service:
Yes the telescope’s mirror will serve faithfully for decades.
Mitchell Buchan (2013.10.05)

Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA weighs 26.5 lbs.
Mitchell Buchan (2013.10.04)
Can Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA be connected to PC?
Customer service:

What kind of batteries should be used with Levenhuk Skymatic 135 GTA?
Customer service:
8 AA batteries.
Will Roddy (2013.10.02)
Hi, recommend me please, which telescope is more suitable for astrophotography and for frequent transportations: Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA or Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GTA
Customer service:
The Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GTA model is great for use in both city and suburbs:
http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-skymatic-105-gt-mak-telescope/
Also we recommend a case for transporting the telescope:
http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-bags-cases-and-pouches/
Wanda (2013.10.02)
How do I connect a digital camera to Levenhuk SkyMatic 135? What adapter do I need? Are there any special cameras? Thanks
Customer service:
To connect a camera you need a T-ring. Take a note of these cameras designed for astrophotography: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-digital-cameras/
Julie Schanhals (2013.10.01)
I've heard that reflectors with aperture of 130-150 mm allow observing a lot of small details… Does this model allow to do so? I want to buy the very first telescope to my son on his birthday so I do not want to make a wrong choice.
Customer service:
Yes, that's correct. Also consider this model: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-skymatic-127-gt-mak-telescope/
Anthony OLSEN (2013.09.20)
let me make it clear: Is Jupiter more easily seen through 90mm refractor Levenhuk Skyline 90x900 EQ than through SkyMatic 135 GTA?
Customer service:
That's the eternal question of all amateur astronomers. It doesn't have a certain answer. It's a fact that 130 mm gathers more light and provides higher magnification. 90 mm telescopes on the other hand provide higher image sharpness. One thing is clear: Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GTA is more suitable for planetary observations (if that's your only goal) and Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA - for deep-sky observations. although the planets can be seen very well too.
Clyde Gullo (2013.09.16)
Tell me please if this telescope compatible with nikon D60 camera? Also are there more affordable astrophotography models in your store?
Customer service:
Yes, you need a T-ring for Nikon cameras. Yes, we sell lower price models, but this is one of the best with an advanced automatic guidance and tracking system.
Anthony OLSEN (2013.09.16)
I can’t get why when someone wants to observe planets you always recommend them refractors of 90 mm aperture or maks of 100 mm aperture? I mean I can't believe that this telescope with its 260x magnification provides worse images of Jupiter than Levenhuk Skyline 90x900 EQ which has magnification of 180x only!
Customer service:
Because planetary observations are exactly what refractors and Maksutovs are meant for.
Julie Schanhals (2013.09.14)
thanks a lot!!!!! It worked perfectly with 3x BL! The images are sharp!!! I've lost a bit in the angle of view, but it doesn't matter for now!
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback!
Angela Vail (2013.09.14)
There is an error message that reads "No link mount Stand alone mode". Can't do anything with it. What does it mean and what should I do to get rid of it? Thanks!
Customer service:
Make sure the power cable is properly plugged into the 12V DC jack on the mount.
Lisa Arcella (2013.09.12)
"and, thanks to the long eye relief of this eyepiece, you can perform such observation even when wearing eyeglasses". What does that mean? It's about this LET eyepiece {{ {{ http://www.levenhuk.com/products/eyepiece-levenhuk-let-5mm/.link.link }} }}. Do you mean that because I don't wear glasses I will see any less??? I want another eyepiece then, not "for glasses"! Or maybe there is no actual difference?
Customer service:
You won't feel any discomfort using this eyepiece whether you wear glasses or not.
Joanne (2013.09.11)
Yes, that's obviuos! What are the consequences? Image distortions or what?
Customer service:
Images will significantly lose quality.
Joanne (2013.09.10)
What if I use this one: {{ {{ http://www.levenhuk.com/products/eyepiece-levenhuk-let-2mm/.link.link }} }} ?
Customer service:
If you use Levenhuk LET 2 mm 1.25" Eyepiece then the magnification will be 325x which goes beyond the highest practical power of the telescope. It means that it will reduce image quality, it won’t be so sharp and contrast will be diminished.
Julie Schanhals (2013.09.09)
Hi everybody!!! Does anybody know if it's possible to use it in auto mod as well as manually?
Customer service:
You can control this telescope "manually" using direction arrows on the hand controller.
Joanne (2013.09.09)
Are there any 2.5 mm eyepieces available for purchasing now? I want to get maximum magnification.
If I install Barlow lens and some other eyepiece whould the image quality suffer and what exactly would change? I mean I can see Jupiter pretty clearly as it is and I do not want any loses in quality to appear....
One more thing - yesterday I observed Andromeda Galaxy (M31) through the 10 mm eyepiece included in the kit. I was observing a foggy cloud without any details. Is it ok or was I supposed to see some details, galaxy spiral maybe?
Customer service:
The eyepiece you require is currently unavailable. Using a Barlow lens leads to moderate loss of light and hence quality. Yes, what you described is normal under the magnification you were observing.
Michael (2013.09.01)
Sorry, figured it out, it's ok now.
Customer service:
Excellent, problem solved.
Michael (2013.09.01)
Bougth a T-ring, can't connect it to the focuser halp!
Customer service:
Focuser has a T-thread for connecting a T-ring.
Michael (2013.08.27)
Thanks for quick reply!
"Slide the base of your finderscope into a dovetail mount on the telescope tube and lock it in place with a thumbscrew. More details may be found here: {{ {{ https://loc.levenhuk.com/upload/uf/062/iojkuffmc8jxmw1iisyi4lch71qp4o3d/lvh-telescopes-skymatic-um-ml.pdf.link.link }} }}" - the problem is not with the installation of the finderscope but with its alignment.
I'll try auto-tracking one more time. for the first time i really watched the moon without aligning the telescope. By the way, i can't find any option "align to... three well-known stars", in the menu of this model, apparently, it's possible to align only to one or two stars, right?
3. "It's for solar observations, in case you own a solar filter." - do you have any?
4. "Yes, T-ring is enough." - it's fixed to the camera, i get this, but how is camera with T-ring fixed to the telescope?
Customer service:
1. To perform this alignment it's recommended to focus on some distant terrestrial object. 2. Aligning to 1 or 2 stars method is described in the user manual. 3. Take note of these: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-filters/
4. From one side T-ring is fixed to the camera bayonet, from the other side - to the telescope focuser.
Michael (2013.08.27)
Hi! I've purchased this telescope and I've got questions:
1. Is there any instruction on how to align the telescope finder? If I assemble according to the video instruction by just sticking a finder into the mount and tightening the screws, the finder is not pointed the same way as telescope :( For now I aligning to the moon, alternately looking through the eyepiece and the finder and twisting the fixing screws, but I do not think that such an adjustment is accurate.
2. I still don't understand how to make the telescope track the object. I set LUNAR RATE on the hand controller menu - and nothing happened!
I turned aside for a sec- half of the moon was already gone. I saw somewhere online that this must be the latest firmware upgrade error and that i need to downgrade to the previous version so i can use auto tracking. Is that true?
3. amateurish question: there are two pimples on a protection cap, you can take off the cap from one of them and there is a hole about 2 in. in diameter. what is this for?
4. what do i need for shooting with Canon EOS 100D? is T-ring enough?
Customer service:
1. Slide the base of your finderscope into a dovetail mount on the telescope tube and lock it in place with a thumbscrew. More details may be found here: https://loc.levenhuk.com/upload/uf/062/iojkuffmc8jxmw1iisyi4lch71qp4o3d/lvh-telescopes-skymatic-um-ml.pdf
2. Before your telescope can navigate the expanse of the universe, you have to align it by two or three known stars. As you know, Earth rotates about its axis during the day. That is why the stars appear to be moving across the night sky following a curve. When your telescope is being aligned, it memorizes a map of the celestial sphere and the movement of stars. This alignment can be performed at any time during your observations (just select Alignment in Setup menu). More information about using and updating SyncScan may be found here: https://loc.levenhuk.com/upload/uf/062/iojkuffmc8jxmw1iisyi4lch71qp4o3d/lvh-telescopes-skymatic-um-ml.pdf
3. It's for solar observations, in case you own a solar filter.
4. Yes, a T-ring is enough.

Hi. Help me please to decide what to choose: Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA or Levenhuk Ra 250N Dob. Thank u
Customer service:
Levenhuk Ra 250N Dob is preferable due to its objective lens diameter. Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA - due to its automatic guidance system. It depends on your order of preference.
Lindsey Pecora (2013.08.21)
Hello ! First i'm gonna write a review, and then i'm gonna ask my questions.
I've bought Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA. I can't say yet that i'm is satisfied (but probably i am doing something wrong ). I set it up, bought an additional 12 V 1A adapter , 2x BL, T130 camera to take pictures (photos and video), by the way, this camera allows you to record videos.
Connected it all ! Aligned to the 2 stars (not difficult) . Guiding system works well.
Now question 1: there are 2 lenses (25 mm and 10 mm) in the kit. I didn't feeel any difference between watching through them, and the most surprising thing was the minor difference between observing through the viewfinder and the telescope. The real question is: What did I do wrong?? Does it make sense to combine 25mm and 10mm eyepieces ?
Question 2: I've bought 2x BL, tried to use it with both 25 mm and 10 mm eyepieces + tried to adjust sharpness. Well I wasn't impressed. Image was blurred and "narrow" ... so i was a bit upset. The real question is: What am I doing wrong? Does it make sense to buy 5 mm eyepiece and combine it with the 2x BL?
( please send me a picture of some objects to my e-mail (I wanna compare your photos and mine), the more the better. Honestly i'm losing hope to see the planets of our system, not mentioning the nebulae, clusters and so on..
Question 3: T130 camera. I've bought it. Only I can't find out what to do with it. Installed it instead of the lens, and then tried it with 2x BL.. long story short .. hit-and-miss fashion didn't work. The real question is: how to use T130 camera: on its own, with BL or with regular eyepieces..( How many alternatives are there? )
To sum up: I've spent about $500 on the telescope, $180 on the camera, $50 on BL+ adapter.
So I'd like to enjoy my observations. Especially considering that observing time is taken away from bedtime.
Thanks in advance for your answers .
Customer service:
An eyepiece with 25 mm focal length included in the kit provides a 26x magnification. An eyepiece with 10 mm focal length provides 65x. When using a 2x Barlow lens with 25 mm eyepiece you get 52x, with 10 mm eyepiece - 130x. The highest practical power of this model is 260x. To get it you need an eyepiece with 2.5 mm focal length. All required information about installing a digital camera may be found in the manual.
Michael (2013.08.20)
Help me please. So we have: this telescope, Nikon d800, 48 mm T-ring, which we don't know where to connect and 42 mm T-ring which I think I know where should be attached. What do I miss for connecting those two technological wonders together so I could manage to take some pictures?
Customer service:
Apparently you need an additional T-adapter.
Shelby Bishop (2013.08.19)

is it possible to control the telescope via tablet?
Customer service:
It's possible, for instance via the Stellarium program, if Windows is your OS of choice.
Wayne West (2013.07.13)
Good day!
Own this telescope, have questions =)
The images seen through the finderscope rotated by 65-70 degrees not 90 (terrestrial objects). Is it normal?
If my balcony "pointed" to south, does that mean that I can't align to the nothern star? (maybe I should go outside to align it and then go back home to observe?)
As for now alignment is a bit too difficult for me, but I guess I will manage over the time)))
Customer service:
Totally normal, as you stay and change the tube's position you also change the angle. It doesn't interfere with astronomical observations. You need to align to the polar star (it's a basic alignment).
Alignment won't be so difficult if you follow the manual step by step.
Kevin Hofland (2013.07.03)
Do I need some additional accessories to get the telescope to its highest practical power of 260x or are those included in the kit enough?
Is this camera {{ {{ http://www.levenhuk.com/products/levenhuk-t130ng-digital-camera/.link.link }} }} enough for astrophotography? Do I need a T-ring in this case or is it included in the kit?
Customer service:
To obtain the highest practical power of the Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA telescope you will need a 2.5 mm eyepiece.
Levenhuk T130 NG Digital Camera is enough. There is no need for T-rings and T-adapters with Levenhuk cameras for astrophotography.
Clyde Gullo (2013.06.26)
Hi! that cable in the kit, is it for connection to the PC? So the image from the telescope can be seen on my monitor?
Customer service:
With this cable you can connect your telescope to a PC and control it via planetarium software. And you need a digital camera to display images, for example this one: http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-digital-cameras/levenhuk-t130-plus-digital-camera/

Consider using optical filters http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-filters/ , Barlow lenses http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-barlow-lenses/ and additional eyepieces http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/
Kimberly Wenger (2013.04.17)
Help me to align my telescope to the brightest star! We keep going according to the instructions. the first star should be set manually, and how to know where it is??? It seems like we find the desired location, even distinguish some star in the eyepiece, but there is no sound signal ... The instruction reads that without that you can't continue. How this finding a first star should be done???
Customer service:
You need to choose the brightest star in the sky, point your telescope at it with control arrows and then confirm your choice. You can find detailed information on Page 6 of User Manual (Brightest star alignment under Star alignment section)
Julie Schanhals (2013.03.29)

Customer service:
If "Star Alignment" procedure was performed correctly prior the session, then you can use "Auto-Tracking" any time. Before choosing this function make sure that the tube is directed to the north.
Erin Bell (2013.03.13)
what command system I need to control this telescope with Red Shift 6 software
Customer service:
To control this telescope with Red Shift 6 software you will need SynScan AZ system.
Ann Nolan (2013.03.09)
What's the main difference between Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA and Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GTA? I wanna buy a telescope + accessories for it (up to $900) for observations and astrophotography with Nikon D3100 Body camera. Suggest me a telescope please worth the money and with the best specifications.
Customer service:
135 GTA is a reflector, Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GTA has Maksutov-Cassegrain optical design.
Reflector is better for deep-sky observations and it's more comfortable to use in the suburbs. Maksutov-Cassegrain is more flexible, it may be used both in the suburbs and in the city for planetary as well as deep-sky observations.
Cyndi (2013.02.23)
Hi I've got SkyMatic 135 GTA, 1.25 eyepiece barrel diameter, and I bought a filter set. How do I attach a filter to the telescope to look through the eyepiece? Do I need some adapter or something?
Customer service:
The filter is supposed to be twisted in the eyepiece.
Stella Tadic (2013.02.17)
Hi. Here's a question out of curiocity.
What if I install 2 Barlow lenses consistently and then an eyepiece, will the telescope magnify even more? Thanks
Customer service:
It will, but the quality of the images will get worse.
Amanda Bliek (2013.02.11)
Help me with this please: skyline pro 105mac or skyMatic 135 GTA?
Customer service:
SkyMatic 135 GTA is preferable because of its bigger objective lens diameter and automatic guidance system. Be careful: reflector's optics unlike the refractor and catadioptric optics need to be regularly adjusted. Also the open design of reflector's tube leads to dust pollution.
Linda Hurt (2013.01.12)
Hi, is it possible to use the telescope manually (without automatic navigation)? Also I wonder if there is any accumulator, which can be charged, instead of regular batteries.
And also if I use the telescope manually (if it's possible) do I need any batteries? thanx in advance
Customer service:
Yes, it is possible to control the Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA model manually by using up-down, left-right buttons on the hand controllers. Also you can use accumulator rechargeable batteries or connect your telescope to an uninterrupted power supply. Yes, you need a power supply for manual control as well.
John Spindler (2013.01.02)
If I install a 3x Barlow lens, what would the magnification be? Would images be sharp? And what if I try Levenhuk Super 5x Barlow lens?
Customer service:
The highest practical power of the Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA telescope is 260x; it may be achieved by using different combinations of accessories (eyepieces and Barlow lenses). But if you go beyond 260x, image quality will be become poorer on a ratio basis. Barlow lenses can increase the magnification of your telescope twofold, threefold or fivefold.
Julie Schanhals (2013.01.01)
Good day!
If I use 10 mm eyepiece together with 5x Barlow lens, I will get 325x magnification (which is higher than 260x). Is it too bad? Are there 4x Barlow lenses?
Customer service:
Yes, the distortion will be hard to ignore, the highest practical power of the Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA model is 260x. You can find 2x, 3x and 5x Barlow lenses here: https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-barlow-lenses/
Michael (2012.09.19)
Thanks for fast reply! Then I guess I'm gonna wait for Levenhuk with T-adapter.
Customer service:
You're always welcome!
Michael (2012.09.16)
I have the same situations with EOS 1000 D. Will I be able to focus with 3x Barlow lens? And another question: where are the drivers for this telescope? I can't connect it to PC!
Customer service:
1) Yes, 3x Barlow lens will work. 2) You can download software required for connecting to a PC for firmware upgrades under the References and Downloads tab.
