Description

Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS is a wonderful telescope for anyone who is beginning his or her forays into celestial observations. It is indispensable for children and their parents alike on their journeys through the universe. This telescope is extremely easy to set up and use, which makes it perfect for amateur astronomers. Strike 90 PLUS lets you observe the Moon and its famous craters, the wondrous landscapes of Mars; the rings of Saturn and satellites of Jupiter, and behold distant star clusters and nebulae.

Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope is very easy to use. It is set up on an altazimuth mount, which is especially useful for amateur astronomers, as you won't have to worry about any additional alignment or calibration. The mount itself is installed on a sturdy and reliable steel tripod. A red dot finder, attached to the tube of the telescope, acts as a laser pointer and significantly simplifies navigation through the starry sky, allowing you to find the desired object very quickly.

Levenhuk Strike PLUS Telescopes are made with high-quality optics. The series includes a refractor and two Newtonian telescopes. The Levenhuk optics used in these models are comparable to those used in professional telescopes. All the lenses and mirrors are made of fully multi-coated glass, which provides extremely sharp and saturated images of observed objects, something that Levenhuk telescopes are renowned for.

The advanced kit of this series includes everything you need to get the most from your telescope. The expansive kit of additional accessories includes books and software that will help you learn more about astronomy, extra eyepieces (including a zoom eyepiece), and a Zongo 20 Telescope Case. The telescope comes in a colorful box.

All this makes the Levenhuk Strike PLUS Telescope a wonderful present for any amateur astronomer who, if not already fascinated by the mysteries of the cosmos, soon will be.

The unique kit of Levenhuk Strike PLUS Telescope contains:

1. "See it all!" Astronomer's Handbook. This practical handbook was created specifically for beginning astronomers. It contains valuable information on over 280 celestial objects and the cosmos in general, as well as colorful star charts and facts on the design of different telescopes.

2. Stellarium. This is 3D planetarium software that allows you to plan your observations and explore the night sky several years in the future. The database contains over 600,000 stars, planets of the Solar System, the Moon, comets and asteroids, galaxies, nebulae and star clusters. All this can be rendered in just a few moments and studied directly on your computer!

3. Space Posters Set (Moon, Sun and Other Stars, Solar System). These posters will help you explore the universe and learn interesting facts about the Solar system, its planets and satellites, and various distant stars. Colorful illustrations and captions present necessary information in an easy-to-read format. The posters are 84x60cm (33x24in).

4. Levenhuk M20 Large Planisphere. This rotating star chart is a handy tool that allows you to find out what celestial objects and constellations are visible above the horizon at a given date and time. All you need to do is align the viewer and the star chart, providing a date and time.

5. Levenhuk DC45 Compass. Truly an invaluable tool that can help you orient yourself to the Northern pole on your observation site. Afterwards, it is easy to locate Polaris in the night sky, which provides a starting point for further observations.

6. 6.8–16mm zoom eyepiece. This is a wonderful eyepiece that can completely replace several eyepieces. By adjusting its focal length, you can change the highest practical power without having to replace the eyepiece. It allows you to enjoy planetary observations and forget about additional calibrations.

7. Levenhuk Zongo 20 Telescope Case; Small, Black. This case is made of a sturdy waterproof material, and the padded lining protects the telescope from impact. The case is also fitted with handle straps for easy transportation.

The kit includes:

  • Levenhuk Strike PLUS Telescope on an altazimuth mount

Will I see galaxies and nebulae?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope allows you to observe several dozen globular clusters, diffuse and planetary nebulae, galaxies. All Messier objects, the brightest NGC under good conditions, and also some details of the structure of many nebulae, but galaxies remain expressionless gray spots.
Karla (2017.08.21)
Good afternoon. I have a problem with microscope camera calibration. I`ve been following the instructions. Could you tell me please, how can I calculate the amount of pixels for cm for each eyepiece? So that I will get the precise measurements for the microscope.
Customer service:
Centimeters do not correlate with pixels in any way. If you calibrate the Levenhuk D320L, 3.MPX microscope`s camera in centimeters, then you should make measurements in centimeters. If you plan to take measurements in pixels, then you should calibrate it in pixels.
alexander (2017.04.27)

Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope produces direct (not inverted), but mirrored images.
Patrick Harrington (2016.07.19)
I have a Strike 90+. The lenses that came with the kit. Are there stronger lenses I can get for a closer look like at the moon and other objects?
Customer service:
Dear Patrick, thank you for your inquiry. In order to reach the maximum useful magnification (180x) you will need to us e a 3.5 - 4 mm eyepiece. Is there any additional information you might need?
Rose Lupo (2016.04.20)
If a person, like myself, has considerable nearsightedness (which is not completely compensated with eye glasses) should I look through the scope with or without my eye glasses?
Customer service:
Dear Rose, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products. You may try to focus the telescope without eye glasses, as focusing should compensate your nearsightedness. If it will be not comfy for you, it is better to use eye glasses.
Is there any additional information you might need?

Which solar filter 102 or 76 is suitable for this telescope?
Customer service:
Both solar filters you mentioned are suitable for this telescope, although Levenhuk Solar Filter for 76mm Reflector Telescopes would be a preferred choice. Levenhuk Solar Filter for 102mm Refractor Telescopes will require additional fixation.
Jorge (2015.09.07)
Hello!
Did I get it right? In order to get better image quality I need to use eyepieces with a shorter focal length without barlow, right? Thanks in advance!
Customer service:
Yes, you got it right. It's always better to use eyepieces with a shorter focal length, then a Barlow lens.
Leo Marsh (2015.08.24)
Greetings! I have several questions. Would you help me?
1. ''6.8-16 mm zoom eyepiece. This is a wonderful eyepiece that can completely replace several eyepieces.'' Could you please be more specific? What eyepieces? with what focal length? 2. Is this telescope suitable for observations in urban conditions? I'm planning to use it mostly from my balcony. 3. What objects will I be able to observe with this telescope model?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope is suitable for urban observations. The 6.8-16 mm zoom eyepiece included in the package can replace eyepieces with focal lengths from 6.8 to 16 millimeters. This eyepiece is able to produce 37x-88x magnification power. Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope allows you to see the Moon and its famous craters, the wondrous landscapes of Mars, the rings of Saturn and satellites of Jupiter, distant star clusters and nebulae.
Alene Weiss (2015.08.12)
How is this for terrestrial viewing? Will I need any additional accessories?
Customer service:
The kit already includes a diagonal mirror, which allows you to obtain upright but mirror reversed images. For upright and non-reversed images you will need a special erecting prism.
Jake Pineda (2015.07.17)
Can I use Levenhuk 3x barlow ED with this telescope model and with Strike 80 NG?
Customer service:
Yes, Levenhuk ED-3x Barlow Lens is suitable for both these models.
Zach Braun (2015.04.16)
Hello! What is focal ratio?? And why these two telescope models Strike 80 NG and Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS have such different values?
And one more thing... which of these models provides better image quality and why?
Why Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS have smaller highest practical power than Levenhuk Strike 80 NG? Thanks
Customer service:
The focal ratio equals diameter of the lens divided by focal length. The lower this value, the better (f/6 > f/9). So the focal length of the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS is larger.
The highest practical power of the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS is higher as well. It is calculated as following: the objective lens diameter (aperture) * 2. On the box and in the product description specified magnification is for particular eyepieces that come in the kit.
Alex Curtis (2015.02.20)
I've recently purchased this telescope...
Guys, do you seriously see Jupiter's bands observing it with this telescope? As I think, 20 mm eyepiece (30x magnification) is the most adequate one, the others are not so good as aberration is too strong. At 30x magnification Jupiter appears as a small bright bead and four dots - its moons. With higher magnification the image is too blurred. My vision is perfect, besides I live in the countryside, so conditions are close to ideal. M31 is seen as a grey cloudlet. I didn't have a chance to observe the Moon and Saturn though, so I won't jump to conclusions just yet. Anyway, maybe I use wrong eyepieces? Do they affect image quality that much? Would filters fix the situation?
Customer service:
Yes, eyepieces really make a big difference. We recommend you pay attention to wide-angle eyepieces with short (6 mm) focal lengths.
Quaron Thomas (2015.02.16)
I use it for about 6 months. overall I'm satisfied.
Some things that I have successfully observed from my balcony (of course, with urban flare and other urban attributes): Jupiter's belts, as for the big red spot... I don't think it's possible to see it even without such strong light pollution... Andromeda, Orion nebula (very clear), Pleiades star cluster (separate stars are seen clearly too, that means the optics are of a very quality). 10 and 20 mm eyepieces (that come in the kit) produce truly quality views. variable zoom eyepiece is good, but, I suppose, it is better suited for terrestrial observations. Barlow lens is also fine but affects image quality a little, 10 mm eyepiece replaces it better. The mount moves smoothly along the Y axis, but it kind of shakes as it moves along the X axes (maybe some kind of silicone spray could fix that?). Why do I need this counterweight? It's a mystery to me...
So it is a nice toy for the whole family, won't take much space on your balcony or in your car (assembly takes only about 10 minutes).
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope. The counterweight is very convenient to use when observing near the zenith. It helps the telescope not to "collapse" on one side.
Andrew Fuel (2015.02.05)
Yes, with 10 mm eyepiece and Barlow lens I will achieve 180x magnification, but what about image quality? Will it make images less sharp?
Customer service:
Barlow lenses always affect image quality, but within reasonable limits.
Andrew Fuel (2015.02.05)
The highest practical power is 165x, and if it is exceeded, images become blurred. In this case I think it doesn't make any sense to buy 10mm eyepiece and use it in combination with 3x BL?
Customer service:
The highest practical power of the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope is actually 180x. With 10mm eyepiece and 3x Barlow lens you will be able to obtain this magnification (180x), so using these accessories makes perfect sense.
Andrew Fuel (2015.02.01)
I was reading the comments and got totally confused. So to get direct images with this telescope I need to buy a 45 deg. erecting prism. And then if I buy a 4mm eyepiece I would need another prism (90 deg), right? But I'm not sure if I got it right.
Customer service:
First of all, an erecting prism can be used with any eyepiece unrelated to its focal length. 90 degrees diagonal mirror is designed to make your astronomical observations more comfortable, the images you get with it are mirrored. 45 degrees erecting prism on the other hand is used to get direct images when observing terrestrial objects.
Jeff (2015.01.05)
I'm a brand new, outta the box, wknd star gazer. I just purchased the strike 90 PLUS and have a few questions. Can I buy rubber rings separately and attach to the existing eye pieces and what's the best filter for viewing the sun? Also, if u know of any sites or links for new users, I'd really appreciate the help, Thx!
Customer service:
Dear Jeff, thank you for your inquiry. We do not have rubber rings in our product range. The Levenhuk 76 mm Solar Filter will fit your telescope. Is there any additional information you might need?
Dave Wooten (2014.11.15)
When I change focal length on the zoom eyepiece, it moves heavily and with a rasp. Can I exchange the eyepiece under warranty?
Customer service:
We recommend that you contact our Customer Service Department: 800-342-1706
Dave Wooten (2014.11.15)
Can I purchase rubber rings for the eyepieces separately? Or purchase other eyepieces?
Customer service:
Yes, with Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope you can use any other optical accessories such as Barlow lenses and eyepieces with 1.25" barrel diameter.
Dave Wooten (2014.11.14)
6 mm and 20 mm eyepieces don't have rubber rings, is it normal?
Customer service:
H20 mm and F6 mm eyepieces that come in the kit with the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS model are not equipped with rubber rings.
Dave Wooten (2014.11.14)
Why the product description says that this item comes with 6.5-21 zoom eyepiece when I got 6.8-16 one?
Customer service:
Thank you for your correction. The kit that comes with the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope has recently changed, the information in the product description will be corrected shortly. Currently the kit of the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope includes 6.8-16 mm zoom eyepiece.
Zack T. (2014.10.24)
Can I use the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope outside when the temperature drops to 10°F? (right after the warm house where the temperature was about 75 degrees)? Should I do something so the telescope won't get damaged from fast temperature changes? Wouldn't optical elements inside the telescope fog up?
Customer service:
Yes, you can safely use Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope when the temperature is 10°F outside. Prior the observation you should leave the telescope outside for a while so temperatures outside and inside the instrument become equal. Optical elements inside the telescope won't fog up.
Vince Lever (2014.10.20)
I purchased this telescope… everything's great, but I can't find any information on using the instrument under low temperature conditions… Can I store the telescope on a balcony in winter? What is the lowest temperature allowed to use the telescope?
Customer service:
Operation temperature range for the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope is -30 to +95 °F, lower or higher temperatures are allowed as well but not recommended since telescope's plastic elements can be damaged.
Nicki Fletcher (2014.10.08)
I am a beginner and I was looking for an instrument with all necessary accessories in the kit... I didn't know what exactly was needed and I didn't really want to spend much time consulting professionals. So I opted for this model and I really like it. The manual is easy to understand... even to me :) thx!
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope.
Andria Fleming (2014.10.06)
Following your advice I bought this telescope for my kid. Truth be told I got interested even more than my son. This hobby led to our new little family tradition: we often go to the countryside with tents to barbecue and watch the stars. This is an ideal instrument for the whole family! definitely recommend it!
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope.
Austin Carson (2014.10.05)
I read through the comments and I can see that many people seem to be not very satisfied with the mount. But guys, this model is an entry-level telescope and in my opinion it’s even better that the mount is AZ, because they are much easier to use. Besides if this great scope was equipped with equatorial mount, it would cost a lot more, and not many beginning astronomers would be able to afford it.
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope.
Kathryn Thomas (2014.10.03)
We bought this for our son, he is an eighth grader and has been into astronomy since fifth grade, but all this time he had to be content with astronomy binoculars. And finally we decided to buy a telescope for him. He is really happy with it. My husband and I know nothing about how it works, but our son manages to do everything himself (though he always shows us when he finds some new view which we haven’t seen yet.) I honestly don’t know how he remembers all the titles of all the stars, constellations and so on, but the views are really wonderful and breathtaking!
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope.
Jerry (2014.10.03)
Bought this telescope two days ago. I really like the accessories that come in the kit, the bag is very convenient, spacious. Planetarium is great software (it has really long list of cities). Wonderful option for home use indeed. It's quite compact and perfectly fits my balcony. I got used to this mount very quickly, tripod is stable. Among all the eyepieces 20mm is the most quality one. Under high magnifications the image won't be so sharp of course. So there's no point in buying expensive powerful eyepieces as I see it.
So it is a wonderful choice for people who live in the city. It's very easy to use and assembling process won't take too long. 5 minutes and you are ready to go, no matter if you are in the city or in the countryside. So it won't be a problem anymore and you can use the telescope more often. And the best telescope is the telescope you use the most, so for me Strike 90 PLUS is the best!
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS!
Max Cook (2014.08.26)
This achromat is wonderful, with the right filter you will be able to see unbelievable things in the depths of space!!! The only thing I don't like is AZ mount, which doesn't allow you to equip it with motor drive. But in general it's a great scope!
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope.
Max Cook (2014.08.26)
Objective lens diameter of this model is 90 mm, according to the rules its practical magnification should be 180x, when why it's 165x on the box? Do you mean that in reality its aperture is only 82.5 mm?
Customer service:
165x is the magnification you get with Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope out of the box (with eyepieces included in the kit). If you want to get the telescope to its highest practical power, you need to purchase additional accessories.
TORI BECKER (2014.08.12)
Hi! I am going to buy my first telescope and I need your advice. I am choosing between Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS, Levenhuk Skyline 70x700 AZ and Levenhuk Skyline 76x700 AZ. I know that the longer the aperture the better, but I keep seeing that you suggest to decide in favor of 70x in comments, why? Judging by the price 76x is the best choice for me, maybe I should just buy it and stop thinking about it?
Customer service:
The Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope is a preferred choice due to its larger objective lens diameter. The Levenhuk Skyline 70x700 AZ telescope is easier to use than Skyline 76x700, so it is the recommended choice for beginners.
Kody (2014.05.27)
I am going to purchase the 900 skyline
Customer service:
Kody, thank you for replying. Do you need any assistance? Looking forward to your reply.
Kody (2014.05.22)
Thanks I am considering one of the telescope as my end of the school year present and I think I am going to get the Levenhuk 900 skyline.
Customer service:
Hello Kody, thank you for replying. Do you consider buying the Levenhuk 900 skyline or the Levenhuk Strike 90 Plus? The Levenhuk Strike 90 Plus will be the best choice as it comes with the advanced kit. Looking forward to your reply.
Kody (2014.05.21)
Can you see the rings of Saturn with this telescope straight out of the box?
Customer service:
Dear Kody, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products! Yes, you will definitely be able to observe the rings of Saturn straight out of the box. Is there any additional information you might need? Looking forward to your reply.
Chad MCLEOD (2014.04.10)
I bought this model for quick astro trips to the countryside. It's quite lightweigh so I don't have any problems with transportation. I really like it so far.
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS!
Victor (2014.02.26)
Is it possible to see Pistol Star with this telescope? Do I need something else? Thnx in advnc.
Customer service:
Thick cosmic dust hides Pistol Star from us, that's why it can be seen through infrared telescopes only and it was discovered by Hubble Space Telescope. It's impossible to see it with amateur telescopes even with the most powerful ones.
Marshall Perkins (2014.02.21)
HI! Please tell me if the order of Barlow lens and diagonal mirror attachment is essential. Should I attach BL before or after the mirror?
Customer service:
Barlow lens is supposed to be installed after the diagonal mirror otherwise you won't be able to focus.
Chad Owens (2014.02.18)
This telescope is a great toy for kids and those who know nothing about astronomy. Very good for entry-level users. Tripod and mount are not all too good, but it can be fixed if you are not lazy. Try tightening the tripod screws! It has no central leg (unlike camera tripods) that's why it's a bit loose. As soon as you fix that you'll see that precise focusing is really not that difficult! Otherwise it's a wonderful telescope! I recommend it to all beginners, the price is totally reasonable. When I played enough, I'll give it away to my grandchildren and buy myself something cooler. A special thanks for the awesome kit and especially Stellarium software. Now I know where, when, what time and in which phase desired objects will be.
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope!
Troy Nicks (2014.01.20)
I heard that temperature range for this telescope is -30 to 95 F. If it's -60 where I live then I can't use the telescope?(
Customer service:
-30 to 60 Fahrenheit degrees is a recommended operating temperature range for Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS, it's possible to use it at higher/lower temperature, but in such case you take a risk of plastic elements of the telescope getting corrupted.
mickey (2014.01.19)
is it ok for a 13y/o lad?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope is a perfect choice for amateur astronomers of any age.
Gregory White (2014.01.07)
Will Celestron erecting prism fit this telescope?
Customer service:
Yes, you can install this prism on Levenhuk Struke 90 PLUS Telescope.
Eddie Morris (2014.01.05)
If I buy an accessory to use this telescope as a spotting scope, will the images be black and white or colored?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope as any other lens telescope (a.k.a. refractor) is based on the classic spotting scope design, so the images will naturally be colored.
patty ramirez (2013.12.12)
Please give me some links where I can find more info
Customer service:
Please specify your question.
edward (2013.12.11)
I heard that telescopes show some objects black and white, which celestial objects will appear black and white when observing? will I be able to witness colored images of jupiter for instance?
Customer service:
Yes, amateur telescopes provide black and white images, to distinguish colors during astronomical observations you need a telescope with objective lens diameter not less than 100 mm.
Lawrence Strong (2013.12.10)
Which telescope should I choose: this one or Levenhuk Skyline 90x900 EQ. Why?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS and Levenhuk Skyline 90x900 EQ telescopes have the same apertures, but Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS comes with extended kit that include beginner learning kit, convenient case for storing and transporting the telescope and several optical accessories. On the other hand Levenhuk Skyline 90x900 EQ has more advanced equatorial mount and hence allows for more precise targeting.
Myrtle Nelson (2013.12.08)
which one is better : levenhuk sky line pro 80 mak or this telescope? It has larger aperture, I guess it means something
Customer service:
Levenhuk Skyline PRO 80 MAK features more advanced Maksutov-Cassegrain optical design and hence more compact dimensions. On the other hand Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope has larger objective lens diameter and rich kit of additional accessories.
Hilary Flores (2013.12.07)
Hey! I would like to know if it's possible to see something similar through this telescope: {{ {{ http://lh5.ggpht.com/-S8bQcMqWdlo/Ua_GkBg0-fI/AAAAAAAAC8A/2Rmm3_ayoIk/s9000/Space%252BWallpaper%252B1080p-727711.jpg.link.link }} }} {{ {{ http://lh5.ggpht.com/-c1AChWvLPvU/UdxBZUb8AmI/AAAAAAAAAAY/F0s4g762fCs/s9000/Free-Download-HD-Galaxy-Wallpaper.jpg.link.link }} }} {{ {{ http://static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120907232709/officalplanetaryprobes/images/e/e1/FullMoon2010.jpg.link.link }} }}
I also have a request: I would like to see pictures of celestial objects that may be observed with a certain telescope on its page.
Customer service:
You will be able to observe these objects with Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope, but they will appear black and white during visual observations. Colored pictures like the ones you have provided are a result of editing - hundreds of images are overlaid on top of each other and processed using special editing techniques.
Tyler Frost (2013.12.05)
Tell me please why does finder need a switch and does it require any batteries for work?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope is equipped with a red dot finder scope, it works like a laser target pointer, the laser system is the one that requires a battery. The battery is included in the kit, easily gets replaced and can be freely found in stores.
Tyler Frost (2013.12.04)
I've only started to learn astronomy, so I'm a dummy. Please explain so even I could understand what's the difference between this model and levenhuk strike 80 ng?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope has larger objective lens diameter, more advanced mount, convenient case for storing and transportations and zoom eyepiece included in the kit.
Eileen Ocean (2013.12.03)
one more question, how much the telescope itself weights?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope weights only 19.85 lbs.
Eileen Ocean (2013.12.03)
is it possible to observe from the balcony or out of the window with this model?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope allows you to observe in the city, from the balcony or out of the window as well! But be aware that image quality will be poorer compared to observations outside the city because of the city lights (street lights, cars, etc.)
Ronald Silva (2013.11.26)
follow-up…It's time for the cons: 1. I was a bit upset because of the notable coma and chromatic aberrations. Then after I removed diagonal mirror I understood that optics wasn't the problem, the problem was in the slippery installation of mirror, BL and eyepiece. The thing is that if you fix the eyepiece too tight you miss the optical axis and get aberrations. But if you don't fix it tight enough it might just fall out. That's why I had to spend a lot of time trying to find the right positioning of the eyepiece. 2. As I already mentioned tracking the object is kinda hard. Mount knobs move too tight for my liking, I think I will change it. 3. Focus knobs are kinda too small for my fingers so it's hard to focus the view, I would like for them to be a bit bigger. 4. I'm positively sure that attaching the camera to this telescope is a complete waste of time. The weight of the camera and imperfection of the focuser won't allow taking decent pictures. Resume: This telescope deserves to be the first telescope for those who just started observations. It's not a toy, but almost a real telescope. The optics is not to go crazy about, but it's quite good. Let's say that's a good scope with proper specifications. But maybe I'm just too demanding and particular about the image quality, I mean just take a look through the telescope at the observatory in your city - you will be thrilled, that's where the images are 'to die for'!

Yesterday got this telescope, bought it mainly as a gift for my child. I'll leave a quick review here in the form of the model's pros and cons. So pros are: 1. The tube, the tripod, objective lens of a good quality (I personally give it a B++) 2. The tube stabilizes quickly 3. The focuser is smooth, works without jerks or backlash. I was surprised by this one because the focuser is made of plastic. 4. The eyepieces are quite good, have rubber eyecups. 5. The magnification satisfied me, different combinations of accessories included in the kit provide different magnifications. It was kinda hard for me to set on Jupiter, but then I managed to get quite quality image (I used BL and 6.3 mm eyepiece). Io, Callisto, Ganymede and Europa appeared exactly like they were supposed to - as beads across the whole field of view. Jupiter's disk is not large, but bands are quite visible. Unfortunately I could not find the Great Red Spot, I guess it's because I could not target the scope properly or because of unfortunate atmospheric state, but mostly because I lack the required filter. 6. The moon is totally awesome! Copernicus is pure beauty!!! Especially near the terminator, this crater is shaped by long shadows. At the highest magnification out of the box (BL + 6 mm eyepiece = 300 x) the Moon barely fits field of view! Despite a little coma and chromatics; 7. Observed the city (was in the suburbs close to the city limit), found some car and almost managed to read the plate! When I looked in this direction with the naked eye, I could not even spot this car. I don't know why, maybe because it was too dark, or maybe because it was too far away, it's 300x after all! 8. Tracking the objects is hard and simple at the same time. You just need to get the hang of it, to cope with deflection. I'm thinking about equatorial wedge. 9. I packed everything in the bag that comes in the kit - amazing mobility! Not heavy at all. You can easily take it with you wherever you go.

Jimmy Butcher (2013.10.20)
Hello! I'm looking for a telescope for my children and for myself. I really like the kit, dimensions and the price of this model. Tell me, what are pros and cons of this model compared to other telescopes with a long focal length (900 mm, 1000 mm) but with the same 90 mm aperture. Can you suggest alternative options in this price range? Will I be able to see the nearest galaxies? I've never used a telescope before, so I don't have any preferences. We will try to see ALL the wonders!
Customer service:
The difference will be in a focal ratio (relative aperture) - the ratio of the telescope's focal length to its aperture. The small focal ratio (f / 5, f / 4,5) usually provides a large field of view and a small scale of the images, and the large - a narrow field of view and a large scale. You will be able to see galaxies but they will appear as cloudy spots without details. In its configuration and price/performance ratio, this model is a good choice.

According to the pictures, there is a counterweight, right?
Customer service:
Yes, you are right, the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS model has the counterweight.
Martha Fodor (2013.10.03)
Hello! Tell me please. Can I take pictures using this telescope with a camera 600D CANON? What should I buy in addition?
Customer service:
Yes, you can take photos using Canon 600D. You will need a T-adaptor.

Hello! Is there any significant difference in optics quality / manufacturing process between this model and Levenhuk Strike 80 NG. and quality/ reliability/ mounts smoothness between these models?
Customer service:
Model Levenhuk Strike PLUS 90 has a larger diameter of the lens, and as a result you will get more magnification and better image quality, also due to the counterweight and the azimuth mount you will get a better smoothness and stability while navigating.

Is the bag waterproof?
Customer service:
This bag protects the telescope from water splashes, but does not provide complete water tightness.

Can I see the planet parade?
Customer service:
In theory, yes, you can observe the planet parade. It depends on the observation spot and atmospheric conditions.
Leslie Barr (2013.08.27)
Hello! I have a question. Is it possible to see the Great Red Spot on Jupiter? If yes, during a confrontation?
Customer service:
Yes, it's possible to see Jupiter's Great Red Spot during a confrontation.

I'm reading comments and you know what… indeed people understand nothing in telescopes. In other words, it's not possible to see all these things with a telescope in this price range. If you want to see Saturn's rings or Mars you should be ready to pay at least! $15 000. Trough this telescope you can see Mars! for sure. but only as a small red dot in the sky. For quality observation the diameter of the objective lens has to be about 250, the more the better. All telescopes under $3000 are just toys. I'm sorry, but it's true. I use these telescopes for observing the Moon when something weird appears or for observing objects on the surface.
Customer service:
Thank you for your comment!
Adam Ventrone (2013.07.28)
Good evening! Could you tell me, what is the difference between azimuth mount and alt-azimuth mount? Why in the specifications it says azimuth? And {{ {{ http://www.levenhuk.com/products/telescope-levenhuk-strike-90-plus/.link.link }} }} alt-azimuth? Thank you!
Customer service:
Alt-azimuth is the full name and azimuth - short. This is the same mount type.
Alex Loose (2013.07.26)
Hello! What is the storage temperature?
Customer service:
Operating temperature range: -31 to 95 F.
flangehead (2013.07.17)
All in all, this is a pretty good telescope, I caught some pretty good views of saturn the other night. I haven't had one since I was a kid,so a good one is better than not having one at all. The attachment point where the tripod legs connect to the mount seem to be the weakest point, I get alot of residual movement that comes from there after adjusting the scope to bring whatever I'm looking at back into view. This is understandable coming from a tripod mounted scope though. I've had a good time with it so far and look forward to enjoying it's use for a long time to come. Oh yea, the packaging was excellent, no damaged parts and everything was there. Good job Levenhuk!!

Pat Lovell (2013.07.03)
Can I see Saturn, Mars and Jupiter through this telescope so they appear bright and clear so I could observe craters, mountains, rivers and volcanoes. What pros and cons of this telescope?
Customer service:
All telescopes produce a black-and-white image in visual observations. With this telescope, you can see the Polar Caps of Mars, Jupiter's Great Red Spot , Jupiter's four moons, Cassini division in Saturn's rings and 4-5 satellites and much more. This telescope has no significant drawbacks. The advantages include an excessive set of accessories, high-quality optics.
Olga Hanun (2013.05.28)
Hello! I have a question: why on the box it specified that it has 165x magnification, but, according to the objective lens diameter, magnification should be 180x. And one more question: a parfocal zoom eyepiece 6.5-21 mm that comes in the kit.. what are the intermediate zoom positions? are they suitable for 3x Bl? they coincide with the maximum useful magnification? Thank you.
Customer service:
Along with the maximum magnification there is "the maximum comfort magnification". The latter is always different and depends on optics characteristics and telescope design as well as on the observer. The maximum comfort magnification of a short-focal-length scope is less than that of a long-focal-length telescope ( with equal apertures). The focal length of the eyepiece 6.5-21 mm varies smoothly. The maximum useful magnification can be achieved with a 10 mm eyepiece + 3x Barlow lens.
Karlun O'Rourke (2013.05.21)
Thank you, that's what I thought. What accessories should I order to show the best image of the Moon to my child? Is it possible to get quality image of the Moon (not only the disk, but so there was a sense of the immediate vicinity of the latter? Or maybe another model will be better? Suggest me something
Customer service:
We recommend you purchase a moon filter in addition to the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope. All necessary eyepieces are already included in the kit. Through this telescope you will be able to see detailed images of the Moon (with ~ 5 km craters). This model is ideal for observing the Moon.
Karlun O'Rourke (2013.05.20)
Hello! In the telescope's description you say that the max magnification of this model is 165x. But in one of the comments you wrote that max magnification out of a box is 300x. So what magnification does this model provide?
Customer service:
The maximum magnification of the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS model is 165x. Maximum magnification out of the box is 300x. But increased more than 165x, the picture won't be clear and sharp.
Ann Osborn (2013.04.22)

Customer service:
All items from the list that is presented below are included in the kit. The price with the telescope is $219.95.
leon bell (2013.04.14)
what's magnification out of a box?
Customer service:
The Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope in its basic configuration provides 300x magnification, but remember that its highest practical power is 165x.
Scott Brembt (2013.03.17)
Evening! Tell me please, can I make refractor out of reflector by changing the lenses? I would like to buy only one telescope for observing the planets' surfaces and nebulae, galaxies. Thank you!
Customer service:
Unfortunately, this is not possible.
Beth Allard (2013.03.16)
Please tell me compared to Levenhuk Strike 80 NG what model will be better for a beginner? What can you say about the resulted image - sharpness, brightness etc. of these two models?
Customer service:
The most important feature of the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope is the objective lens diameter. You should give preference to this model.
Ann Hart (2013.03.04)
