What is a smart telescope and why is it not just a GoTo with a camera?
Traditional GoTo telescopes can only locate an object in the sky, but you still need hours of shooting, a separate camera, a laptop, and complex processing software to capture a beautiful photo of a nebula.
The Levenhuk Kelvin Bright smart telescope does everything by itself. It is a fully self-contained intelligent system. Unlike GoTo systems, the smart telescope doesn't just point at the target – it continuously photographs it with the astronomy camera and stacks dozens of frames into one. As a result, a bright, colorful, and detailed nebula will emerge on your smartphone screen.
Best of all, you don't have to give up visual observation: unlike many other smart telescopes, the Levenhuk Kelvin Bright has not only an astronomy camera but also a classic eyepiece. While the camera shoots through the guidescope, you can enjoy the beauty of space in real time.
Your smartphone is the remote control
All interaction with the smart telescope happens on your smartphone. You get remote access to the device through the app for iPhone and Android via Wi-Fi. Select constellations, planets, or galaxies with a single touch, watch the colorful image emerge, and immediately save the finished photo to share it with friends on social media.

All smart telescopes in the series have the same built-in intelligent technology but differ in the optical tube:
- STR90 – a wide-angle refractor (90mm aperture, 500mm focal length). An ideal tool for panoramic astrophotography. The Orion Nebula, the Andromeda Galaxy, and the Pleiades star cluster all fit entirely into its field of view.
- STM102 – a Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope (102mm aperture, 1300mm focal length). A well-balanced model for those who want to photograph lunar craters, Venusian phases, and Jupiter's cloud belts in full detail.
- STM127 – the powerful flagship of the series, built on the Maksutov-Cassegrain design (127mm aperture, 1900mm focal length). It gathers the most light in the series, allowing you to capture the finest structures of Saturn's rings, the shadows on Jupiter's moons on the planet's disk, and details of distant star clusters.
The smart system of each telescope includes a high-sensitivity Full HD astronomy camera with a Sony sensor, GPS and Wi-Fi modules, and a compass. The mobile app offers a true space encyclopedia with an interactive database of 100,000 objects, while the built-in memory can store up to 8,000 astrophotographs.
