MAGUS CLM70 Digital Camera

MAGUS CLM cameras are professional devices for installation on a microscope and recording observations that are carried out using fluorescence and darkfield microscopy techniques. The CLM70 model is a monochrome camera equipped with a 1.7MP sensor that produces an image with a resolution of 1600x1100px. The video recording speed is 94fps at the highest resolution. The device is optimally combined with 40x, 60x, and 100x objectives. The camera is equipped with a Peltier element for cooling the matrix, which provides a clear image even when shooting at long shutter speeds. The global shutter produces an authentic image without distortion, regardless of the object’s movement. The built-in USB3.0 interface transfers data at high speed and does not distort the image when displayed on an external screen. The broadcast video is realistic and without breaks or gaps between the frames. The camera is designed to work in a professional environment and for university training. It is suitable for making presentations and demonstrating observations to an audience.

The SONY Exmor CMOS sensor that is installed in the camera, with a diagonal of 1.1'' and of 9x9µm pixels, is designed with back-illumination technology. It enables you to obtain higher light sensitivity. In the CLM70 model, it is 8100mV at a shutter speed of 1/30 second. The camera is monochrome, and so the user will not be able to distinguish the colors of the sample, but the image will have a high contrast, which is important in low light conditions. For the widest and clearest field of view, use the 1x adapter.

The camera is equipped with a special cooling module: a Peltier element. Heating of the sensor during prolonged operation has a negative effect on the image quality causing thermal noise. The Peltier element keeps the temperature at 42°C below room temperature. The sensor will be able to work even with long shutter speeds without significant heating, and the image quality will remain high.

A global shutter is a type of shutter that reads the signal from all pixels simultaneously. The image conveys the real picture without distortion, even if the object moves.

The camera uses its own software that enables you to take photos and record videos, process them, and measure the linear and angular dimensions of objects and their structures. Before measuring, calibrate the software for each objective.

The camera is inserted into the trinocular tube of the microscope and then connecting to it via a C-mount adapter.
